Now that it's officially summer (!) I feel like I should be making a summer to-do list. I've never made one before, mainly because listing things out and giving them a deadline stresses me out. Even if said list involves things like ice cream, the beach, and general fun.

But this year is the first summer we're in the house and not an apartment, and I'm so excited about it I'll willingly write a big long list of all of the backyard happenings I want to take place. Like grilling! And having space to invite people over! I plan to live outside this summer (and in SPF).

Needless to say I'm incredibly excited about outdoor entertaining this summer, which usually includes a whole host of celebratory desserts and treats. One treat that just screams summer to me is a frozen cocktail, but standard varieties don't exactly keep in line with the healthier lifestyle I try and keep. These tropical citrus raspberry frozen margaritas are made using two Bolthouse Farms® beverages for an ultra refreshing and fruity blended drink that's healthier-for-you and hits the spot!

Two frozen blended margaritas garnished with salty lime rims and fresh raspberries.

I sipped a bunch of Bolthouse Farms juices, smoothies, and protein drinks, and while I enjoyed them all, the Raspberry Blood Orange and Mango Pineapple Colada immediately jumped out at me as two beverages that would be excellent in a cocktail. Hello, summer in a glass!

The Raspberry Blood Orange is tart (my favorite!) and the Mango Pineapple Colada is thick, creamy, and has tropical written all over it. The two are combined with freshly squeezed lime juice and tequila and blended with ice - and that's it! You've got yourself a tasty frozen cocktail made for the warm weather, and without the empty calories from a lot of store-bought cocktail mixes.

In addition to the delicious flavors, Bolthouse Farms has a large selection of beverages that are gluten-free, with no added preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no high-fructose corn syrup. I love a quick and easy ingredient switch-up like this to keep me celebrating while maintaining a healthier lifestyle. Plus it's easy to multiply the ratio of ingredients and make a batch for a crowd!

Bolthouse Farms has six new drink flavors, including Berries and Green Veggies (in addition to Raspberry Blood Orange and Mango Pineapple Colada -- my jams), and Protein PLUS Banana Honey Almond Butter, Coconut, and Strawberry. I speak from experience when I say the Protein PLUS varieties are awesome fuel for oohhhh, let's say painting your whole house, and the juices and smoothies are wonderful for post-painting relaxation. Or really, anytime.

In the summer I find myself on-the-go often, between work, prepping for outdoor festivities, vacationing, visiting friends and family, etc. I love being able to work fruits, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals into my busy schedule with ease, especially because Bolthouse Farms beverages are affordable and readily available at grocery stores nationwide. Perfect for when we're home in Tennessee, or visiting Brian's family in Maryland, or mine in California, or our friends in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania...

We always make a summer to do list, but don't end up doing much of what is on it πŸ™‚ What a pretty color for a drink! I love margaritas, and the juice flavors you have combined sound perfect. Such a great drink for summer entertaining.

Thanks Sherri! I'm thinking I'll make a one with just a few, very attainable items. That way there's no way to worry about it. πŸ™‚

I basically always get a summer to-do list in my head, but none of the things ever seem to happen πŸ˜› But it's still fun to put together and if they do happen, all the better! Regardless...SUMMER ROCKS!
